Variety

The trees today look different

To the way they were last week,

And who knows what tomorrow

Will yield to those who seek?

For Nature never lets things stay

But mounts a new show every day!

Never give up!

Big or little, if fishers we be,

On one great truth we all agree - -

Though today we make no score

There`s always better days in store.

The crossing

"One step at a time" - that`s what we were told,

When we were little, but terribly bold.

But wasn`t it hard our terror to hide

When steps were so small and spaces so wide!

Step by step

The end we cannot always see,

But, murky though the future be,

Always when the pressure mounts

The NEXT step is the step that counts.

I wonder!

The world was full of wonders

When we were very young;

And How? and When? and Why? and What?

Were always on our tongue.

Time makes us old and wiser,

But as the years slip by

How happy still to see the world

Though childhood`s eager eye.

Treasure trove

We search for them as treasures now

And show them off with pride:

Odds and ends of bygone days

Which once we threw aside!

The letter in the postman`s bag,

The caller at the door,

A meeting with a stranger,

What will it have in store?

Life need never be all that dull,

There`s promise new each day,

Just open out your heart

To every chance that comes your way.

Age is a quality of mind,

If you have left your dreams behind,

If hope is cold,

If you no longer plan ahead,

If your ambitions are all dead,

Then you are old.

But if you make of life the best,

And in your life you still have zest,

If love you hold -

No matter how the years go by,

No matter how the birthdays fly,

You are not old.

Best of all

Of course it`s good to travel,

See the world the sailor`s way,

But the greatest thrill is knowing,

"I am going home today!"
