An Indian legend
An Indian legend tells of a begger who sat with his bowl containing a handful of rice, waiting hopefully for the passing of the Rajah`s procession, hoping that some nobleman might put a coin in the bowl. To his astonishment the Rajah stopped directly by him and asked him what he wanted.
"Alms!" cried the begger in confusion.
"Give me something first," said the Rajah.
Give to the Rajah, who had everything?
Angrily the begger threw a single grain of rice at him. Then, as he looked in his bowl, he saw a tiny piece of gold, as big as a single grain of rice.
"Fool that I am!" cried the begger. "Why did I not give him it all?"

"He who sows sparingly shall reap sparingly" is true, not simply in a material sense , but true of friendship, love, sympathy, encouragement and all that is in our power to give.
